Update FEB 2023———————-My display died, thanks to the hinge kept scratching the display cord , waiting some cable i have ordered online in hopes that this will fix the issue, otherwise it will be the most underpowered 2000$ PC instead of a laptop—————————————————————-all the reviews here are talking about the good part which is gaming and performance, but I will be focusing on the missing part . the build quality and the issues.I will start with the worst part. this laptop screen will die eventually no matter what . the design causes a terrible friction between the hinges and internal display cables . this is inevitable so if you didn’t suffered of it it this doesn’t mean your unit is safe . this makes the screen disconnects and showing scrambled colors every time you close it I move it to the level I became terrified of closing the lid on all my devicesalso I have never seen a touchpad that pad in any laptop I used over the last 10 years ( and I have used a lot) not because the touchpad before 10 years were worse . it’s just because I can’t remember how it felt . first of all you can’t gain advantage of its size because of the numpad button integrated into it have only 2 modes , either enable or dead area . mean either you will keep pressing it by mistake or you will end have an unused part of your touchpad , it is too soft to be used unless you have sweaty hands. I had to add a screen protector to it to make it usablenot to mention that the software is quirky specially if you installed a fresh windows on it, and you are bound to the buggy windows 11 because of the 12th gen intel processors having an issue of windows 10 not being able to differentiate between performance and efficient coreAlso I don’t recall using a laptop without function lock button. seriously in 2022 no function lock ?and lights . lights makes you feel like a football player being bothered by lasers from the other team crowds . even with lid closed if it is not totally turned of it will shoot lights from top into your eyes . makes it impossible to sleep with it in the same room or having to shutdown every time , and when you turn of the bottom light strip ( u know in a meeting if you use it for work too ) it looks like and ugly white stripe affecting the laptop lookthunderbolt 4 port can’t charge, so if you are connecting this to an eGPU (yes I know for now you shouldn’t need a eGPU with such powerful RTX 3070TI but future proofing you know) which means you will need to attach either power cable or another charger even though you could depend on the power from the eGPU , also on type C power there is no real way to limit the consumption so the battery doesn’t go down while using itthe lid scratches sooo easily , I got few scratches already even though I am taking a good care of it . but the black color is just a thin layerno finger print or any other biometric login , but instead they added a useless keystone .the body of the laptop is creaking a lot, a part of it because of the swappable plate in the backI 110% regretting buying an ASUS laptop , they used to be good I didn’t know about their quality reductionNote : I had it shipped to me out of US that’s why it is not easy this to put it back under RMA or somethingthe Good and okay parts :> Keyboard : if you are using it for writing you will differently like it . for gaming ? not the best .> Batter Life : for a *Gaming* *Intel* laptop it is okay (about 4 hours of normal use) , but if you want a full day battery then stay away of this laptop> Expansion : can be increase to 2 PCIe GEN 4 SSDs and 64 GB of ram . costly but worthy> Performance : I use it to write code may be more than I do to game , and I would say it serves this purpose in a better way . it is very fast for development work> above average display : it get bright enough for indoor without bright lights , good colorsin summary , this could be a good laptop . I could let all of its disadvantages pass . if it didn’t have a quality control issue that will render it dead soon and the touch pad

Compre esta computadora y al recibirla no encendio, despues de varias horas de carga siguio sin encender, la unica solucion que me dieron fue la devolucion del dinero, se veia buena y segun las espcificaciones de la caja su pantalla si venia QHD apesar de traer la RTX3070 Ti que normalmente viene de FHD, sin embargo lastimosamente no pude disfrutar de ninguna de sus prestaciones.

Para uso exigente, programar, compilar, jugar e incluso como server de gran rendimiento sin mayor problema, nada le pesa y se nota la gran diferencia con generaciones anteriores de procesador, sin embargo su gran pero es la bateria, he hecho pruebas con el maximo ahorro de bateria posible navegando en internet y escuchando musica con audifonos y la verdad es que no logro llegar mas alla de 2.5 hrs de duracion. Es una pena que Asus indique duraciones de 5 hrs o mas cuando esta muy lejos de llegar a eso.

Compré el equipo y dejo mi reseña clasificada en varios puntos que para mí considero importantes:Almacenamiento: El equipo viene con 1TB de espacio en NVME M.2 Gen 4 de Stock y trae un Slot extra para aumentar el espacio, la velocidad del disco de stock llega a los 5,000 MB de lectura y 4,500 de escritura, al equipo le puse un disco de 2TB WD_Black y le cargué nuevamente el sistema operativo aunque me costo trabajo encontrar el drives de Intel Rapid Storage Technology para procesadores de 13va Generación, al final lo encontré y le cargue Windows 11, en el Slot adicional le instale otro WD_Black de 2TB, en total quedo el equipo con 4TB y funcionan los dos discos a 7,000MB de lectura y 6,800 de escritura, según la página de Crucial con el número de serie del equipo se le pueden asignar hasta 4TB por Slot para tener en total 8TB (no comprobado por mi) ya que son muy caros los discos de ese tamaño pero con 4TB el equipo funciona perfectamente.Memoria RAM: El equipo viene con dos módulos de 8GB de fábrica a 4800 MHz marca Samsung, yo al querer instalar más memoria en todas partes encontré que solo aceptaba 32GB como máximo, caso que me resultaba extraño al tener un muy buen procesador y prestaciones en generales altas, continué investigando y decidí investigar particularmente las características del procesador, en la Página de Intel ingresando el modelo del procesador que es el Core i9 13980hx indica que tolera 128GB en RAM en DDR5 a 5600 MT/s y lo mismo pero a DDR4 a 3200 MT/s y en la página de Crucial con el número de serie indicaba que toleraba 64GB con módulos de 32GB cada uno, así que me arriesgue y solicite en Amazon un paquete de 64GB que trae dos módulos de 32GB cada uno con las mismas especificaciones, DDR5 a 5,600 MT/s y los reconoció perfectamente, probé también dos módulos de 16GB para tener 32GB en total y también funcionó muy bien, al final me quede con los 64GB para tareas exigentes que la mayoría del tiempo quedan sobrados pero si tu duda en específico es si llega a 64GB de memoria RAM, si, si funcionan.Procesador: El equipo viene con un Core i9 Raptor Lake específicamente el modelo 13980hx uno de los mejores del año 2023 de 13va generación, el procesador cuenta con 24 Núcleos, 8 de Rendimiento y 16 de Eficiencia, los proceso que e ejecutado en paralelo han sido creación de contenido, virtualizacion, ciencia de datos, videojuegos y realmente en nada me a fallado el único detalle fue que al reinstalarle Windows 11 en el disco de 2TB no aparecían las particiones para seleccionar el disco, hacia falta un controlador pero es para procesadores de 13va generación, encontré el de 11va y 12va generación pero solamente, si me tarde un poco al final lo encontré pero alguien que lo había publicado para una tarjeta madre de Asus para el procesador de dicha generación de esa forma lo descargue, lo cargue y detecto los discos, existe otra opción de desactivar el controlador VMD desde la BIOS pero no deseaba realizar esto ya que leí reseñas que tenerlo activo si le otorgaba un mejor performance al equipo, aunque si no encontraba el controlador era mi última opción, también leo que se podrían recuperar los controladores con Driver Magician del disco original y ahí debería de estar para poder buscar de carpeta en carpeta el controlador que solicitaba y poder instalar Windows esa era otra opción pero tenía que abrir el equipo nuevamente instalar el original, copiar todos los controladores, cargarlos en una USB y a intentar, sinceramente me daba flojera pero al final encontré el controlador y no hubo mayor falla con ello.Pantalla: No es la mejor pantalla pero si es buena, en la página del producto existe una que es Nebula la cual tiene mayor frecuencia de actualización y mejores características, pero este equipo trae una pantalla con mejores prestación que la Nebula Display, aunque como digo es buena pantalla, tiene muy buen brillo y lo suficiente para jugar.Tarjeta de Video: Incluye 8GB de memoria de video dedicada, la tarjeta de video que incluye es una RTX 4070 pero es la versión mobile, y no tiene el performance que una de escritorio, sin embargo lo primero que jugué fue Age of Empires II y luego probé algunos juegos como CyberPunk, Fortnite, Resident Evil, God of War y cabe decir que todo lo configura en calidad ultra o épica, y con el procesador de apoyo y sus 64GB en RAM pues en realidad ningún problema.Teclado: Cuenta con Teclado RGB por tecla, el cual es configurable al color que gustes, no es algo que me llamara tanto la atención y nunca lo había usado, pero ya que lo use es un plus interesante y agradable.Cámara Web: Cuenta con 720p en su cámara no es lomejor pero para lo básico es suficiente, de menos ya cuenta con ella, el modelo anterior no la incluía.Energía y Batería: Incluye un poderoso cargador de 280w el cual le da el poder energético que necesita sin embargo el punto en el que más falla es en su batería, se drena en exceso y con mucha velocidad, no dura demasiado más que dls horas o tal vez menos pero por las prestaciones yo creo se podría entender un poco.Precio: Costo 45k en pesos mexicanos y solo había promoción a 6 MSI.Ventilación: Es silenciosa pero con muchas tareas el ventilador se escucha y en ocasiones fuerte y por algo de tiempo.Peso: Es un equipo grande y pesado pero sigue siendo Laptop, si deseas portabilidad y algo ligero este equipo no lo es.Envío: En total tardo 9 días desde que la pedí hasta que llego viene desde Hebron Kentucky EE. UU. y fue hacia la CDMX.En general es un buen equipo, existe una versión con pantalla de 18 Pulgadas y 12 GB en la RTX así como pantalla Nebula, pero su precio a de ser mucho mayor más que no la encontré en Mexico, con un contacto la podía conseguir pero mencionó que su costo estaba entre los 60k y 70k.Espero mi reseña les sea de utilidad, agregaré fotos para respaldar lo que comento y me extendí porque cuando quería saber más del equipo busque en YouTube y no encontré mucho, y tenía varias dudas al respecto.Saludos.

Bought this in December of 2022. So 5 months. Computer is overheating to the point it freezes.I think its just the CPU jumping up because the computer itself is not hot. I have a temp monitor app and it shows the cpu jumping up to 80-100c and falling back down to temps that are normal for that use period. Can’t use it for more than watching videos because if its already at 85-90c it will jump over 100c. $2k spent on this.Loaded into the desktop and temps were at 82c.

La computadora es de las mejores por el precio que estás pagando, procesador, gráfica, disco duro, etc.Lo que se le puede observar es en el pequeño ruido que hace, eso te puede afectar si no eres muy paciente pero en un ambiente de trabajo o de juego no lo vas a notar.También la batería puede que sea uno de los puntos a considerar ya que dependiendo el uso o el modo que la estes utilizando es lo que va a durar la misma, en mi caso siempre la tengo en un rendimiento algo alto para que el coil whine se reduzca para que trabaje el sistema de refrigeramiento.

I bought this computer to use for graphic related processing. I have used it less than 10 times while still using my old computer and planned on implementing when I upgraded my computer area. I occasionally surfed the web and downloaded a few 3d related programs and went to start it one day and it came up with a black screen saying “Please follow the steps below to recover your BIOS”I followed the 5 step process to the letter and the same message came up over and over.I called ASUS customer service (I think it was a daycare because all I could here were screaming kids in the background). They said there was no way for them to help me without sending the unit in for repair. I told them that the machine had only been used a handful of times and they said it was a hardware related issue.Why is ASUS sending out machines with no quality control. And if they know the issue why are they sending out defective units?!?There should be a lemon law for computers because I see online that others have had the same issue, repeatedly, and have to send units in over and over.This will be the last time I by from ASUS! There quality has dropped terribly over the years.And of course Amazon won’t do anything either! Buyer beware!!!

He hecho un upgrade a 64 de ram y 3 tb de almacenamiento. La batería creo qñse puede clasificar de meh… los portátiles gaming no son famosos por tener un rendimiento de batería increible… me ha gustado, el tema de la pantalla… tiene fugas de luz pero la vdd no es un problema, al menos para mí, porque no es algo que se aprecie la mayor parte del tiempo…Ahora bien, si eres alguien que necesita usar linux instalado por x o y… no la compres aún… es una pesadilla hacer que el audio funcione… al punto de tenerle que meter manos a la bios bajo tu propio riesgo… otras marcas son mas amigables y dan mejor soporte para usar linux… eso sí, este procesador corriendo código en linux es una barbaridad…

Me gustó porque cumple con la función de usarla como pc de escritorio y traerla por todos lados ya qué no es pesada. Lo único que si le encuentro pero es que se calienta un shiin… Ni cambiándole el modo de los ventiladores a turbo evita qué se caliente arriba de los 86 grados. Sin embargo el teclado es el que permanece fresco y no hay molestia en ese tema. Solo se calientan las salidas del aire.

Factory seal was brokenFactory cardboard box had stickers ripped off it and a big cut in the box from knife or box cutterOpen box to find inserts tossed in and a sticker on top of laptop stating “NO OS INSTALLED”After booting laptop it was determinedSsd drive was corrupted, missing drivers along with OS.After several hours of working on the laptop I was able to get it operational. (Technician by trade) Amazon refunded 321$ off the item but still wasn’t a good experience for anyone. QUALITY CONTROL should have caught this.(Experience aside these laptops are very nice and worth the money. I just can’t reccomend after how the product arrived)

Great looking laptop and awesome specs, I purchased the 13980HX with 4070 model.Laptop worked perfectly for 1 HOUR !!! THEN BOOM !!!It turned itself off… upon trying to restart the unit I noticed the keyboard and rgb strips lit up but NO DISPLAY ????I then tried again to restart the unit and I was met with flashing orange battery light.This continued wether the unit was plugged in or not.I’m extremely disappointed as I had high hopes for this laptop.Returned it on July 3rd, still waiting for my money back or for Amazon to atleast update the status 😔😔😔…From what I’ve read my story is NOT rare. I would avoid this one, if it seems to good to be true, it usually is.AND I WOULD DEFINITELY AVOID BUYING IT HERE ON AMAZON UNLESS YOU ENJOY YOUR MONEY BEING TIED UP FOR WEEKS

tarjeta de video que incluye es una RTX 4070 pero es la versión mobile, y no tiene el performance que una de escritorio, sin embargo lo primero que jugué fue Age of Empires II y luego probé algunos juegos como CyberPunk, Fortnite, Resident Evil, God of War y cabe decir que todo lo configura en calidad ultra o épica, y con el procesador de apoyo y sus 64GB en RAM pues en realidad ningún problema.Teclado: Cuenta con Teclado RGB por tecla, el cual es configurable al color que gustes, no es algo que me llamara tanto la atención y nunca lo había usado, pero ya que lo use es un plus interesante y agradable.Cámara Web: Cuenta con 720p en su cámara no es lomejor pero para lo básico es suficiente, de menos ya cuenta con ella, el modelo anterior no la incluía.Energía y Batería: Incluye un poderoso cargador de 280w el cual le da el poder energético que necesita sin embargo el punto en el que más falla es en su batería, se drena en exceso y con mucha velocidad, no dura demasiado más que dls horas o tal vez menos pero por las prestaciones yo creo se podría entender un poco.Precio: Costo 45k en pesos mexicanos y solo había promoción a 6 MSI.Ventilación: Es silenciosa pero con muchas tareas el ventilador se escucha y en ocasiones fuerte y por algo de tiempo.Peso: Es un equipo grande y pesado pero sigue siendo Laptop, si deseas portabilidad y algo ligero este equipo no lo es.Envío: En total tardo 9 días desde que la pedí hasta que llego viene desde Hebron Kentucky EE. UU. y fue hacia la CDMX.En general es un buen equipo, existe una versión con pantalla de 18 Pulgadas y 12 GB en la RTX así como pantalla Nebula, pero su precio a de ser mucho mayor más que no la encontré en Mexico, con un contacto la podía conseguir pero mencionó que su costo estaba entre los 60k y 70k.Espero mi reseña les sea de utilidad, agregaré fotos para respaldar lo que comento y me extendí porque cuando quería saber más del equipo busque en YouTube y no encontré mucho, y tenía varias dudas al respecto.Saludos.

Bought this in December of 2022. So 5 months. Computer is overheating to the point it freezes.I think its just the CPU jumping up because the computer itself is not hot. I have a temp monitor app and it shows the cpu jumping up to 80-100c and falling back down to temps that are normal for that use period. Can’t use it for more than watching videos because if its already at 85-90c it will jump over 100c. $2k spent on this.Loaded into the desktop and temps were at 82c.

La computadora es de las mejores por el precio que estás pagando, procesador, gráfica, disco duro, etc.Lo que se le puede observar es en el pequeño ruido que hace, eso te puede afectar si no eres muy paciente pero en un ambiente de trabajo o de juego no lo vas a notar.También la batería puede que sea uno de los puntos a considerar ya que dependiendo el uso o el modo que la estes utilizando es lo que va a durar la misma, en mi caso siempre la tengo en un rendimiento algo alto para que el coil whine se reduzca para que trabaje el sistema de refrigeramiento.

I bought this computer to use for graphic related processing. I have used it less than 10 times while still using my old computer and planned on implementing when I upgraded my computer area. I occasionally surfed the web and downloaded a few 3d related programs and went to start it one day and it came up with a black screen saying “Please follow the steps below to recover your BIOS”I followed the 5 step process to the letter and the same message came up over and over.I called ASUS customer service (I think it was a daycare because all I could here were screaming kids in the background). They said there was no way for them to help me without sending the unit in for repair. I told them that the machine had only been used a handful of times and they said it was a hardware related issue.Why is ASUS sending out machines with no quality control. And if they know the issue why are they sending out defective units?!?There should be a lemon law for computers because I see online that others have had the same issue, repeatedly, and have to send units in over and over.This will be the last time I by from ASUS! There quality has dropped terribly over the years.And of course Amazon won’t do anything either! Buyer beware!!!

He hecho un upgrade a 64 de ram y 3 tb de almacenamiento. La batería creo qñse puede clasificar de meh… los portátiles gaming no son famosos por tener un rendimiento de batería increible… me ha gustado, el tema de la pantalla… tiene fugas de luz pero la vdd no es un problema, al menos para mí, porque no es algo que se aprecie la mayor parte del tiempo…Ahora bien, si eres alguien que necesita usar linux instalado por x o y… no la compres aún… es una pesadilla hacer que el audio funcione… al punto de tenerle que meter manos a la bios bajo tu propio riesgo… otras marcas son mas amigables y dan mejor soporte para usar linux… eso sí, este procesador corriendo código en linux es una barbaridad…

Me gustó porque cumple con la función de usarla como pc de escritorio y traerla por todos lados ya qué no es pesada. Lo único que si le encuentro pero es que se calienta un shiin… Ni cambiándole el modo de los ventiladores a turbo evita qué se caliente arriba de los 86 grados. Sin embargo el teclado es el que permanece fresco y no hay molestia en ese tema. Solo se calientan las salidas del aire.

(PURCHASE WAS FOR NEW G614JI AS94)Was very discouraged to recieve a open box item. Factory seal was brokenFactory cardboard box had stickers ripped off it and a big cut in the box from knife or box cutterOpen box to find inserts tossed in and a sticker on top of laptop stating “NO OS INSTALLED”After booting laptop it was determinedSsd drive was corrupted, missing drivers along with OS.After several hours of working on the laptop I was able to get it operational. (Technician by trade) Amazon refunded 321$ off the item but still wasn’t a good experience for anyone. QUALITY CONTROL should have caught this.(Experience aside these laptops are very nice and worth the money. I just can’t reccomend after how the product arrived)

Great looking laptop and awesome specs, I purchased the 13980HX with 4070 model.Laptop worked perfectly for 1 HOUR !!! THEN BOOM !!!It turned itself off… upon trying to restart the unit I noticed the keyboard and rgb strips lit up but NO DISPLAY ????I then tried again to restart the unit and I was met with flashing orange battery light.This continued wether the unit was plugged in or not.I’m extremely disappointed as I had high hopes for this laptop.Returned it on July 3rd, still waiting for my money back or for Amazon to atleast update the status 😔😔😔…From what I’ve read my story is NOT rare. I would avoid this one, if it seems to good to be true, it usually is.AND I WOULD DEFINITELY AVOID BUYING IT HERE ON AMAZON UNLESS YOU ENJOY YOUR MONEY BEING TIED UP FOR WEEKS
