. I love this camera. Bought it for my boyfriend for Christmas and I am always stealing it from him to use it and go take photos of whatever I want. Yes it doesn’t have its own zoom, however I love that fact that you can’t take the photo (even of something further away) and crop it and it’s still crystal clear. Unlike my samsung ultra camera it starts getting all pixelated… this camera is great for on the go, it’s not small but it’s not super big. It fits in a small bag or even in regular sized backpack without adding too much weight. The price wasn’t too bad either all things considered. Also, not to mention one of my favorite part; Uploading photos directly to your phone from the camera itself using Wifi!! That feature comes in clutch 100%.

Great lightweight camera, but I receive just a single lens though the description says it comes with two lenses and I had to go through the struggle of returning and trying to reorder, hopefully the second time it comes with both lenses

I was using Canon Rebel T1i before I got this camera, and I can see the difference in quality of the picture (less grain, more natural colours, minimal wrapping). The only thing is that the capture speed is a bit slow. Otherwise, I’d highly recommend it.Added images for comparison: same lens, same manual settings.

. I really like the camera. However, I would recommend buying the body and lens(es) separately. The kit lenses are quite good, whether you get the 18-45mm or the dual lens kit that adds the 55-210mm. However, I think buying the body, then adding the RF-S 18-150mm lens is a better setup for most people. The 18-150mm is more versatile, covers most of the zoom range of the two lens kit, and his larger optics with lower F-stops throughout it’s zoom range. Yes, you’re going to spend a little more doing that vs either of the kits, but you get simplicity, versatility, and the extra light gathering capability of the larger optics.

. Annoying piece of junk camera. When I hold this camera, my hand automatically rests against the right bottom area, which brings up the selection for auto focus…continuously. Takes forever to autofocus anyway. Cannot ever be sure if autofocus is on or not since it changes constantly. Camera has shown me a full battery many times, and when in use does not even last 50 photos taken within 20 minutes. I need a camera that either shows me when a battery is drained so I can charge it, or give me a battery that last a decent while. This is one purchase I regret. I have owned many Canon cameras before this one and loved them, but I will buy a different brand next time I change cameras due to this mostly useless paperweight.

Package arrived without 55-210mm lense, had to return it and probably wait 2-3 weeks for it to arrive.

. Twenty-four years ago, my first serious camera was an all-manual Ricoh film camera. The only electronic feature it had was a built-in light meter for setting the exposure. Focus was achieved by aligning a split prism in the viewfinder. Today, I appreciate more convenience. When I’m on a photoshoot, I use autofocus to capture expressions quickly, but I still manually set the shutter, aperture, and ISO to ensure consistent exposure between locations, making batch processing easier. For my needs—typically portraits, small events, and traveling—when buying a new camera, my priorities are solid build quality, sharp image quality, sufficient low-light performance, fast and accurate autofocus, long battery life, RAW output, and manual controls for the exposure triangle. The Canon EOS R100 delivers on all these fronts. I don’t need an articulating screen, touch controls, joysticks, thumb wheels, or streaming capabilities. I want a camera, not an Xbox. The few drawbacks, as others have mentioned, include the camera being quite small. If you’re nearsighted, you might need to remove your glasses to see the screen, but I somehow don’t need to remove my glasses to look through the viewfinder. Additionally, manually changing ISO takes some navigating, back button focus isn’t an option, and the autofocus beep is hard to hear outside. I’ve started to just trust the camera to set the ISO automatically, with a 3200 maximum, and lock the exposure with the function button, and this has worked out surprisingly well. When I need to manually focus, focus peaking is an option, which works similarly to a split prism. How nostalgic. To the credit of those who complained about the lack of modern features, they may have been integral in encouraging Canon to lower the price of the R100. I’m thankful for that because I’d be more willing to spend $300 for this camera than $600.If you also appreciate simplicity and don’t have a regular need to record yourself, the Canon EOS R100 is an excellent buy as a primary or backup camera.A couple of final notes: For an impressive demo of the video capabilities when using an ND filter, look up “Canon R100 4K Video Test” by DSI Pictures on YouTube. Secondly, I’d advise against investing heavily in RF-S lenses; instead, opt for full-frame RF lenses in case you decide to upgrade to a full-frame camera later. Lastly, the featured photo was taken at a yoga center.

. I bought this mirrorless camera to replace my 2 EOS Rebel cameras because they were so heavy. This new beauty weighs only 12 ounces! The manual is online and easy to use. There are several YouTube videos I have watched to help with setup. I’m pleased to have this camera, that fits in my purse, to take when traveling as it takes way better pics than a phone. It has WiFi and I paired it with my iPad so pics are easily transferred for editing. I also considered buying the Sony A6000 but this Canon is less expensive and does the same things. And the Sony is discontinued.
